12:55 AM Books! Books! I was actually supposed to accompany my colleague to buy a book for her friend in Kinokuniya and it seems that since I like to read, she brought me along to choose a good book as a gift. Hahaha... And guess what I found at the store. One of my favourite author, Cecelia Ahern's 4th latest book was out! I was waiting for her latest novel after reading her 3rd book and finally, it's here!! So instead of finding my colleague's gift, I went straight away to get the book!! Hahahah.. What a friend! ;P Anyway, I recommend her books to all those bookworms out there. It's really good, well except for her 2nd book. Haha! Just didnt see her point of view in making the story based on letters, emails format. Well, maybe she wanted something different. But my most fav. one is her 3rd book, "If you could see me now" Totally magical and touching. Anything is possible for Cecelia Ahern. ^^ Latest Novel (4th book) "A Place Called Here" My own review: Ever wonder where missing people or items go? ^^ Then this is the story you should read. It's brilliant. I just can't put down the book when I start reading it. ^^ Story Outline Since Sandy Shortt's childhood classmate disappeared twenty years ago, Sandy has been obsessed with missing things. Finding becomes her goal- whether it's the sock that vanished in the washing machine, the car keys she misplaced or the graver issue of finding the people who vanish from their lives. Sandy dedicates her life to finding these missing people, offering devastated families a flicker of hope. Jack Ruttle is one of those desperate people. It's been a year since his brother Donal vanished into thin air. Thinking Sandy Shortt could well be the answer to his prayers, he embarks on a quest to find her. But when Sandy goes missing too, she stumbles upon the place - and people - she's been looking for all her life. A world away from her loved ones and the home she ran from for so long, Sandy soon resorts to her old habit again, searching. Though this time, she is desperately trying to find her way home... (3rd book) "If you could see me now" My own review: Now this is a story that all of you should read. Well only to those who loves magical, romantic and fairytale stories. Trust me, you'll love it when u reached the last page. There's a sad, funny, love and family moments in all one book. My favourite of all the 4 books! Story Outline A lively and romantic novel about two lost souls who find each other in the most unexpected way. Everything in Elizabeth Egan's life has its place, from the espresso cups in her gleaming kitchen to the swatches and paint pots of her interior design business. Order and precision keep life under control—and keep Elizabeth's heart from the pain and hurt she has suffered in the past. Being a reluctant mother to her six-year-old nephew while trying to keep her business on track is a full-time job for Elizabeth, and one that leaves little room for error—or fun. Until, one day, Ivan unexpectedly comes into their lives. The mysterious Ivan is carefree, spontaneous and always looking for adventure—everything that Elizabeth is not. If You Could See Me Now is the extraordinary tale of Ivan and Elizabeth. Of how Ivan meets the love of his life before she even sees him, and how he teaches her that life is only worth living when it's blindingly colourful and the occasional mess. Yet just when Elizabeth is starting to trust him, it turns out that Ivan isn't at all who she thought he was. Playful and at times intensely moving, this is a novel about how seeing isn't always believing. Full of Cecelia Ahern's trademark warmth and poignancy, If You Could See Me Now is a story of enormous heart--and just a little bit of magic. (2nd book) "Where rainbow ends" My own review: Okay.... like I said earlier, I didnt see her point in writing the story in letters and email format but nevertheless the story plot is good. Eventhough, it takes a long time for me to finish it. Hehehe... Story Outline From naughty children to rebellious teenagers, Rosie and Alex have stuck by each other through thick and thin. But just as as they're discovering the joys of teenage nights on the town and dating disasters, they're separated. Alex's family move from Dublin to America - and Alex goes with them. For good. Rosie's lost without him. But on the eve of her departure to join Alex in Boston, Rosie gets news that will change her life forever - and keep her at home in Ireland. their magical connection sees them through the ups and downs of each others lives, but neither of them knows whether their friendship can survive the years and miles - or new relationships. And at the back of Rosie's mind is whether they were meant to be more than just good friends all along. Misunderstandings, circumstances and sheer bad luck have kept them apart, but when presented with the ultimate opportunity, will they gamble everything for true love? (1st book) "P.S. I Love You" My own review: Now this is the book that had started me to add her as one of my fav author in the list. ^^ It's so good that it made me in tears from the start until the end (and of course happy tears in the end). The story is so sad, you know and it touches me to the core. That I dont know why.. Maybe 'cause I'm a touchy girl. Hahaha... The book tells a story of how it hurts to have your loved ones gone in your life when you planned to grow old together, to move on with your life while living in the wonderful memories of him/her, and having friends & families being there for you so that you are not alone in this world. It's really good... if not, she wouldn't be in my list. ;) Story Outline Some people wait their whole lives to find their soul mates. But not Holly and Gerry. Childhood sweethearts, they could finish each other's sentences and even when they fought, they laughed. No one could imagine Holly and Gerry without each other. Until the unthinkable happens. Gerry's death devastates Holly. But as her 30th birthday looms, Gerry comes back to her. He's left her a bundle of notes, gently guiding Holly into her new life without him, each note signed "P.S. I Love You." As the notes are gradually opened, and as the year unfolds, Holly is both cheered up and challenged. The man who knows her better than anyone sets out to teach her that life goes on. With some help from her friends, and her noisy and loving family, Holly finds herself laughing, crying, singing, dancing - and being braver than ever before. Life is for living, she realises - but it always helps if there's an angel watching over you. |
