12:55 AM Books! Books! I was actually supposed to accompany my colleague to buy a book for her friend in Kinokuniya and it seems that since I like to read, she brought me along to choose a good book as a gift. Hahaha... And guess what I found at the store. One of my favourite author, Cecelia Ahern's 4th latest book was out! I was waiting for her latest novel after reading her 3rd book and finally, it's here!! So instead of finding my colleague's gift, I went straight away to get the book!! Hahahah.. What a friend! ;P Anyway, I recommend her books to all those bookworms out there. It's really good, well except for her 2nd book. Haha! Just didnt see her point of view in making the story based on letters, emails format. Well, maybe she wanted something different. But my most fav. one is her 3rd book, "If you could see me now" Totally magical and touching. Anything is possible for Cecelia Ahern. ^^ Latest Novel (4th book) "A Place Called Here" My own review: Ever wonder where missing people or items go? ^^ Then this is the story you should read. It's brilliant. I just can't put down the book when I start reading it. ^^ Story Outline Since Sandy Shortt's childhood classmate disappeared twenty years ago, Sandy has been obsessed with missing things. Finding becomes her goal- whether it's the sock that vanished in the washing machine, the car keys she misplaced or the graver issue of finding the people who vanish from their lives. Sandy dedicates her life to finding these missing people, offering devastated families a flicker of hope. Jack Ruttle is one of those desperate people. It's been a year since his brother Donal vanished into thin air. Thinking Sandy Shortt could well be the answer to his prayers, he embarks on a quest to find her. But when Sandy goes missing too, she stumbles upon the place - and people - she's been looking for all her life. A world away from her loved ones and the home she ran from for so long, Sandy soon resorts to her old habit again, searching. Though this time, she is desperately trying to find her way home... (3rd book) "If you could see me now" My own review: Now this is a story that all of you should read. Well only to those who loves magical, romantic and fairytale stories. Trust me, you'll love it when u reached the last page. There's a sad, funny, love and family moments in all one book. My favourite of all the 4 books! Story Outline A lively and romantic novel about two lost souls who find each other in the most unexpected way. Everything in Elizabeth Egan's life has its place, from the espresso cups in her gleaming kitchen to the swatches and paint pots of her interior design business. Order and precision keep life under control—and keep Elizabeth's heart from the pain and hurt she has suffered in the past. Being a reluctant mother to her six-year-old nephew while trying to keep her business on track is a full-time job for Elizabeth, and one that leaves little room for error—or fun. Until, one day, Ivan unexpectedly comes into their lives. The mysterious Ivan is carefree, spontaneous and always looking for adventure—everything that Elizabeth is not. If You Could See Me Now is the extraordinary tale of Ivan and Elizabeth. Of how Ivan meets the love of his life before she even sees him, and how he teaches her that life is only worth living when it's blindingly colourful and the occasional mess. Yet just when Elizabeth is starting to trust him, it turns out that Ivan isn't at all who she thought he was. Playful and at times intensely moving, this is a novel about how seeing isn't always believing. Full of Cecelia Ahern's trademark warmth and poignancy, If You Could See Me Now is a story of enormous heart--and just a little bit of magic. (2nd book) "Where rainbow ends" My own review: Okay.... like I said earlier, I didnt see her point in writing the story in letters and email format but nevertheless the story plot is good. Eventhough, it takes a long time for me to finish it. Hehehe... Story Outline From naughty children to rebellious teenagers, Rosie and Alex have stuck by each other through thick and thin. But just as as they're discovering the joys of teenage nights on the town and dating disasters, they're separated. Alex's family move from Dublin to America - and Alex goes with them. For good. Rosie's lost without him. But on the eve of her departure to join Alex in Boston, Rosie gets news that will change her life forever - and keep her at home in Ireland. their magical connection sees them through the ups and downs of each others lives, but neither of them knows whether their friendship can survive the years and miles - or new relationships. And at the back of Rosie's mind is whether they were meant to be more than just good friends all along. Misunderstandings, circumstances and sheer bad luck have kept them apart, but when presented with the ultimate opportunity, will they gamble everything for true love? (1st book) "P.S. I Love You" My own review: Now this is the book that had started me to add her as one of my fav author in the list. ^^ It's so good that it made me in tears from the start until the end (and of course happy tears in the end). The story is so sad, you know and it touches me to the core. That I dont know why.. Maybe 'cause I'm a touchy girl. Hahaha... The book tells a story of how it hurts to have your loved ones gone in your life when you planned to grow old together, to move on with your life while living in the wonderful memories of him/her, and having friends & families being there for you so that you are not alone in this world. It's really good... if not, she wouldn't be in my list. ;) Story Outline Some people wait their whole lives to find their soul mates. But not Holly and Gerry. Childhood sweethearts, they could finish each other's sentences and even when they fought, they laughed. No one could imagine Holly and Gerry without each other. Until the unthinkable happens. Gerry's death devastates Holly. But as her 30th birthday looms, Gerry comes back to her. He's left her a bundle of notes, gently guiding Holly into her new life without him, each note signed "P.S. I Love You." As the notes are gradually opened, and as the year unfolds, Holly is both cheered up and challenged. The man who knows her better than anyone sets out to teach her that life goes on. With some help from her friends, and her noisy and loving family, Holly finds herself laughing, crying, singing, dancing - and being braver than ever before. Life is for living, she realises - but it always helps if there's an angel watching over you. Monday, May 28, 2007
11:15 PM ~His special day~ Oh gosh... I was supposed to update this last week but I got so busy with work and my online games that I didnt have enough time to update. ^^ Hehehe... Anyway, my honey's birthday went well as I planned out. His birthday falls on sunday, 21st May and he had to work. Well what can he do? Weekends and public holiday is his peak periods. So we both took a leave the next day, which is on Monday just to celebrate the day with him. We decide to have a bbq nite just the two of us. ^^ Heheh... To cut the story short, all went well. We met in the afternoon, well after I deal with his present at the shop for a last minute adjustment and then head to our bbq place. Food's great and it was a long time since I taste bbq food!! Hahaha.. And it's not easy bbqing the chicken you know! :P Took a long time for it to get cooked. I was like drooling over it when the smell of the honey chicken rise up in the air.. Hahahah... So overall, we had fun. He had fun too and Im glad he did. He like the gifts that I got him. I had a tough time thinking what to buy for him. In the end, I decided to give him a big box full of presents. Everytime that we met or hang out gave me the clue what he want badly. He rarely spent on himself. So on the special day, I decided to pamper him with the luxurious gifts. ^^ (See what a good girlfriend I am. Hahaha...) So wanna know what I bought for him? Check it out below. (I was supposed to take a pic but forgotten about it. ) 1) Shoes that he wants it badly that time but there were no size. 2) Seiko watch which I think I spent too much. Hahaha.. but it's worth it. At least he would be wearing it all the time and always remember me wherever he go. ^^ 3) and not forgetting his favourite panda chocolate biscuits in a big red tin! All this is worth it just for my sweett darling honey! Muacks! Love you always! ^^ "I liked the gifts very much. Tapi.... cuma satu je yang kurang... Baju pengantinnye mana??" Saturday, May 19, 2007
8:54 PM Updates!! Updates!! 3 things have been happened lately so far. Firstly, the cat at my work place had become the mother of 4 kittens and boy, were they cute! Hehehe... actually they looked like rats at first.. But too bad, they survive this world for more than 1 week only. 2 kittens were dead at first after 1 week, the other 2, we did not know where the mother hid it. And then it rained heavily that time & the mother dissapeared, and I was thinking oh no... they could have died of coldness out there. Then, the mother brought only 1 back so I assume that the other one did not survive. Oh well, I thought at least that one out of four survive. But noOOoo... when I checked the lil kitten, it was so cold and weak. I covered it partly with a blanket and the mother cat actually gently covered the kitten with her warm body. But sadly, it didnt make it... Sheshhh I was sad cause when I checked the kitten at 6 pm, it was ok and still moving. When I was going back home, the kitten was dead. And that was 620 pm... T_T And the sad thing is the mother cat still call out to her kittens.... So sad... :( Secondly, I caught this rainbow near my flat after a quick heavy rain. It was so gorgeous I tell you. It's like it is just in front of me. My sister was the one who notice it when she looked out of the window. ^^ And thirdly, I went to my ex-secondary school as they were having a funfair and I bought the tickets. So might as well I used it up rather than throwing it away. So I planned with my sec schl mates and went there. At first, I wanted to go to the office to finish up some work but changed my mind the last minute. And boy, I did made the right decision to go the school! I saw my band junior and she totally looked different! I was so damn excited when I saw her... screaming like I have never seen her for a long time. (Well that's true! It's been like what since 1999!!) And my sec. schl and band memories just flood through my mind when we walked around the school to see if there is any changes. We surveyed our classes, the hall, the canteen, all the rooms that we had gone to for our art/geography/science classes, and well, let's say almost the whole school... Oh my... I miss my secondary school days!! And oh! I met my band teacher, Mr Steven Koh. Well, he asked to call him just Steven since we graduate from school but hey.. to me, he's still Mr Koh... My favourite teacher in the school! Hehehehe.. Anyway, from far, he saw me and frown giving me the look that he had seen me before and then he waved at me!! Hahaha... Wahhhhh!!!! T_T I want to go back to my band days!! Pictures taken... Henna done by one sec 3 students. Simple and nice... Bought the orange bear for a souvenier. If u notice on the legs, it state my school name. But too bad, one of my friend's lil cute niece wanted the bear and with the way she's looking at the bear, it breaks my heart to see her wanted it so badly. So I gave it to her... I do want the bear that bad too. Hehehe.. but nvm... at least I made the kid happy! ^^ The class of our assembly area every morning before we go to our classes. Our classroom. My band teacher!! Look how excited I am.. Hahahaha... Our dicipline master back at school! And finally... a picture of us. Well, we couldn't resist to take a snap. ^^ Thursday, May 03, 2007

12:10 AM Surprise! Surprise! I had a good day today. My dear darling surprise me by showing up at my workplace! I didnt know we were supposed to meet... Haha! I was going out of the office to go to the ladies when all of a sudden I spotted someone walking around the corner. Haha... My heart beats like crazy I tell you! Geez!! Here I am missing him so badly and all of a sudden he's here? Hahah... Anyway, we went to Suntec City and ate at McDonalds. We just talked, laughed, told some stories that happened to us during work... sitting down there just spending our time together.. It was nice and I was happy! Work, family problems just went away... ^^ We then just walked around at Esplanade, enjoying the night before I have to get back home before 12... Bummer!! If only I can stay longer! Hahah... But hey, at least I enjoyed the evening... And I'm still smiling.... ^^ |
